Role Overview

As a Digital Marketing Intern at TMC Marketing, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of digital marketing while working alongside our Digital Marketing Specialists and Content Managers. This internship will give you valuable exposure to how a startup marketing agency operates and provide practical knowledge in content creation, social media management, video editing, and SEO.

While this is an unpaid internship, it offers a robust learning experience and can be validated for college credit. You will have the chance to work closely with our CEO and gain essential business management insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation Support: Assist the Digital Marketing Specialists and Content Managers in researching for and creating social media posts, blogs, and other marketing content for clients.

  • Video Editing: Learn and assist with video editing, helping to create content for social media and client campaigns using video editing software.

  • Copywriting: Contribute to writing compelling copy for social media, email campaigns, and web content.

  • Social Media Management: Help schedule and manage social media content using social media management software (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer). Monitor performance and assist with content adjustments as needed.

  • SEO Research: Assist with research to help optimize client websites for search engines by identifying keywords and creating SEO-friendly content.

  • Website Design Support: Learn the basics of designing websites from a marketing perspective, and assist in executing website updates or building landing pages.

  • Branding Assistance: Help create brand kits, including logos, color palettes, and design elements, ensuring consistency in client branding across platforms.

  • Campaign Planning: Contribute to the planning and execution of social media marketing campaigns, including content brainstorming, scheduling, and performance monitoring.

  • Client Research: Conduct research on client industries and competitors to help develop more effective marketing strategies.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this internship, you will have gained experience in:

  • How a startup marketing agency operates: Understanding the dynamics of running a small marketing agency and managing multiple client projects.

  • Video Editing Software: Exposure to video editing tools and techniques for creating marketing videos.

  • Copywriting: Developing the ability to write persuasive and engaging marketing copy for various platforms.

  • Content Planning & Creation: Learning the fundamentals of content strategy and how to create content that aligns with marketing goals.

  • Social Media Management: Gaining experience with social media management platforms and learning how to run successful social media campaigns.

  • Website Design from a Marketing Perspective: Understanding the importance of user experience and conversion in website design.

  • SEO Research: Learning the basics of search engine optimization and how to conduct SEO research to improve website performance.

  • Building a Brand Kit: Understanding how to create a cohesive brand identity that is visually consistent across all platforms.

  • Business Management: Working closely with the CEO to learn about managing a business, leading teams, and handling day-to-day operations.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field (college credit validation is available).

  • Strong interest in digital marketing and content creation.

  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Compensation:

  • This is an unpaid internship; however, it is eligible for college credit validation.

  • You will gain practical experience and receive mentorship from seasoned professionals, with the potential to continue with TMC Marketing after the internship period.
