The Story

Challenge, Strategy, Results

Great stories, no system to tell them.

Go Downtown Kenosha is the consumer-facing brand of the Kenosha Lakeshore Business Improvement District, which represents more than 60 downtown businesses. The district had real stories to tell, but its channels were not telling them. Our April 2026 audit found:

  • No short-form video, so reach was capped on every platform
  • Underused channels: TikTok rarely used, YouTube dormant for nine years, 194 LinkedIn followers
  • No posting schedule for followers or algorithms to rely on
  • No shared brand system across the BID and its creators
  • No clear reporting for the board

Go to the businesses and film what makes each one worth a visit.

Our approach was simple: capture what makes each business worth visiting, and turn it into content that makes people want to be downtown.

  1. Short-form video four days a week on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn
  2. Business spotlights every other week, filmed on location with owners
  3. Brand guidelines for the district and a quick guide for its creators
  4. A Sip & Stroll Meta campaign to drive ticket sales
  5. Website support: a cleaner, lower-cost fix when the site went down in August
  6. A one-page board report before every meeting

Growth in weeks, and it kept building.

Growth started within weeks and kept compounding, with each channel adding to the total.

  • +265% Facebook interactions in the first six weeks, all organic
  • 507K impressions by mid-July, 750K by mid-August, 1.2M by October
  • +89% Instagram impressions from mid-August to mid-October
  • +157% TikTok views in eight weeks, 87% from the For You feed
  • 20,900 Facebook views on a spotlight of a business celebrating 86 years
